On the occasion of the 120th birthday of Bulgarian Poet Magda Petkanova we wanted to organize a tour through the streets of Sofia which has the names of Bulgarian writers.
Unfortunately, due to the pandemic we are still under the prohibition of “in person” events so this event will be online, as the birthday of Magda Petkanova is on the 16th of August.

During her life there were many wars happening on the Balkans – the two Balkan wars, World War I and World War II - which had a huge impact on her life and work. Her historic plays are signed capture the pathos of this time, her poems are know as songs by almost every Bulgarian but only few are aware of the fact that there is an author behind these texts.
On you tube there are hundreds of songs based on her texts the most popular one I would translate in English as „if you start missing rakiya from Drama“ – Drama is a beutiful place on the Balkans here a link from Googlemaps Protected content
If you share the moos - we end the activity while singing the song together- here a link to the music and the text
