This group is to remember the meetings which were held in Birmingham England, under the name of the Lunar Society, because they held their meetings near the full moon so that their members could find their way home.
The aim of the meetings was to Inspire and Improve the World. The friends met for over 35 years, between Protected content Protected content usually had an exchange of ideas, then a splendid meal, and later went to the workshop/laboratory to demonstrate their latest developments.
The Lunar Society was influential in creating the Industrial Revolution in Britain, doubling the average life expectancy, which had never been above, 40 years.
