Roy Lichtenstein. Posters
The master of pop art, Roy Lichtenstein, stars in the beginning of the season of the Canal de Isabel II Foundation. The artist's exhibition will be exhibited for the first time in Spain. The exhibition is curated by Jügen Döring the Head of the Poster and Graphic Works Department of the Hamburg Museum.
The artist Lichtenstein was one of the greatest exponents of American pop art. The artist created a new artistic language by incorporating into his canvases daily moments from day to day, from capitalist society and from mass culture. Roy Lightenstein uses new media for his creations, such as the case of comics or advertisements, considered until that moment little artistic and academic.
The public can enjoy a set of 76 works with more representative posters of the artist, and offers an overview of their creative universe. The exhibition gathers the most important and representative posters of the artist, from his first exhibition in Protected content his last one in Protected content . Over 30 years where Lichtenstein offers a vision of the evolution of the creative world that led him to consider him the greatest representative of Pop Art .
