War Against the Poor! the "Delegitimization" of Homeless People
Panel discussion Protected content on September 11, Protected content
Homeless people are among the social groups that need protection, care, and equal rights. However, they are currently exposed to numerous forms of overt and covert delegitimization worldwide: The spectrum ranges from forced institutionalization and begging bans to evictions, anti-homeless architecture, and subtle measures that are barely noticeable to the rest of society. A "war against the poor" is being waged here!
On National Homeless Day (September 11), we would like to address this topic in a panel discussion starting at 7 p.m. Protected content What are the reasons behind this development? How does it manifest itself in different countries? What does it mean for the individual? The speakers include the Indian activist Khushboo Jain, the sociologist Marco Heinrich and the historian Niko Rollmann. The event will be held in German and English. For participants who are unfamiliar with the place, a free guided tour Protected content will be offered after the event. Drinks can be purchased on site at socially acceptable prices.
