Art / Design Talk +Music: Tokyo Interior Stylist Nagayama Tomomi
Come join the first of the monthly series of Art/Design talks + Music performance session presented by TO ensemble, featuring renowned Tokyo Interior stylist Nagayama Tomomi (長山智美).
"Interior styling" is a unique field in the creative world and it involves selecting and coordinating interiors/products for photo shoots for magazines, catalogs and for places like showrooms, shops and exhibitions.
Tomomi is one of the most highly sought-after stylist in Tokyo, working mainly with top Japanese interior/lifestyle/design magazine “Casa BRUTUS “. She has also worked with Japanese interior brand “Francfranc “ for their catalog, decorated the showroom of Tsutaya store, LEXUS cafe and lounge, JINS eye-ware store, and most recently styled the set for the photoshoot for Japanese sensation girl band AKB48
She will share about the idea/concept of interior styling and will explain her creative process, using examples of her works. She will discuss how she selects and coordinate interior/ products so that attendees can see things from a stylist’s point of view and hopefully apply the ideas to the styling of their home/work/personal space.
She will also be sharing interior trends including topics from the world’s biggest furniture show “Milano Salone”, and end the talk with a Q&A.
There will be a short original music performance by composer-pianist Tze Toh , followed by drinks + mingle with speaker Tomomi.
We will proceed to dinner nearby for those who are keen.
