After a successful first session (full house!), ANIMA: Art / Design Talk + Music returns, exploring the senses of smell and hearing as we re-connect with nature.

In our busy modern lives, to relieve stress we often turn to our various senses to help us relax. As the sense of smell is one which we often use to help us discover and re-discover an environment, find familiarity and comfort, essential oils have become popular nowadays.

However, essential oils are also a way for us to connect with nature. Since ancient times essential oils have been used for physical and spiritual healing, because they come from the source/the soil. They can be extracted from flowers (lavender, jasmine, rose, Ylang Ylang) or from bark (Pine, Hinoki, cinnamon etc) and have properties that help in many aspects of our daily living. Finding the right combinations of things - us, the essences of the flora and fauna, helps us regulate our own pulses and vibration.

Likewise, music has been around since the beginning of time and has been used by human beings to reflect and express our connections with the world around us. Music most importantly, exists in nature itself, with songs of birds, calls of insects, the gentle swaying of leaves in the forest and the sound of the flow of the river all coming togther to form one breathtaking symphony.

Come join us for a talk by Protected content to learn about the unique properties of various essential oils that energizes us and connects us with nature, and also how nature itself is an endless source of inspiration for the creation of music for composer Tze Toh.

After the talk, experience their unique collaboration: a concert combining scents of nature with music inspired by sounds of nature.

After the talk there will be mingling, and for those are not attending the experience/concert, we will get someone to to bring everyone to coffee nearby.

For the rest, after the experience/performance at 6pm, we shall rejoin the coffee group, and proceed to dinner nearby.
