In the summer of 75, Pier Paolo Pasolini shoots Salò, one of his most controversial films.
It is when Pasolini feels tense and uneasy. Italians have yet to get the new right to divorce, and the Italian Communist Party (PCI) appears to win the general election, causing concern in the Western bloc.. Pasolini is unlikely that this could happen. From his point of view, Italy is rapidly moving toward a consumerist community that he sees as “a dictatorship worse than fascism.”
