The Ankerwycke Tree, the Magna Carta and Windsor Scenes
By around Protected content , Gautama Buddha had recently died, Confucius had resigned as a minister to wander the countryside and Xerces was trying to conquer Greece. In North America the Olmec culture was thriving and in South America the Chavin were prominent. And in an area near modern-day Runnymede, the Ankerwycke Tree began to sprout. In more modern times, it may have been in the area where the Magna Carta was signed and where Henry VIII gave chase to Anne Boleyn.
The plan is to see this tree, the area where the Magna Carta was signed and walk in the old forest grounds of Windsor. The castle is there but I don’t think we’ll be able to give that justice. There is a Magna Carta tea room near the tree...
