FROM KÖNIGSTEIN BAHNHOF TO K'STEIN CASTLE WITH CASTLE TOUR TO ANITAS FUCHSTANZ WITH LUNCH VIA ALTKÖNIG SUMMIT TO FALKENSTEIN CASTLE WITH TOUR AND BACK

Come join a tour of history, good food and good hiking! Starting point will be Protected content From there a short walk through the OLD TOWN of K'stein will take us to the ruins of its historic castle, one of the largest castle ruins in Germany, Its origins date back to the 11th and 12th centuries. During the Napoleonic wars, the castle was destroyed by French troups. We will tour the castle and enjoy the wonderful views from its top,

Then we continue through K'stein and hike to Anitas Fuchstanz where we shall stop for a lunch break. The calories gained shall be invested in the hike up to the top of Altkönig, with roughly 800m the third highest elevation of the Taunus mountain range.

Before coming back to the K'stein train station, we will tour the ruins of Falkenstein Castle on the way. The castle was built in the middle of the 14th century and fell to ruins after the 30 year war.

To get to K'stein from Frankfurt, this time one has to start with S1 from the lower level of Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof departing at 10:42 am toward Wiesbaden and exit at Frankfurt Hoechst. There you will change to the train to K'stein leaving from plattform 13 at 10:59 am and arriving in K'stein at 11:23 am.

Trains back to Frankfurt depart at 17:31 and every hour thereafter.

For substantial savings join a group ticket and meet in front of Burger King at the lower level of Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof at 10:30 am. Up to 5 travelling together can enloy a much better price on a Group Ticket (Gruppenfahrkarte) available at all ticket machines. Savings already start with 2 passengers,
