MPB Night – Live Roda & Brazilian Vibes

🎶🇧🇷An MPB (Brazilian Popular Music) roda is a relaxed gathering of musicians, usually held in places like bars, squares or homes, where songs from the vast MPB repertoire are played and sung. Brazilian Popular Music encompasses a variety of styles and influences, including bossa nova, samba, baião, tropicalismo and more, and is known for its poetic lyrics and catchy melodies.

The musicians sit in a circle (hence the name ‘roda’) and play various instruments, such as guitar, cavaquinho, keyboard, percussion and more. In the MPB roda, it's also common for singers to perform the songs, often with choir accompaniment from the other participants. The atmosphere is collaborative and everyone is encouraged to take part, whether by playing, singing, dancing or simply enjoying the music.

Taking part in an MPB roda is more than an opportunity to make and listen to music; it's a moment of social and cultural connection.

People share their musical passions, exchange stories and experiences and strengthen bonds of friendship in a cosy and festive atmosphere.
