Sprichst du Chinesisch? willkommen in der 34. Mandarin-Praxis!
Just kidding!! The title might be in German, but all languages are welcome - especially Mandarin Chinese of course!!
Shichahai is probably the most well-known neighborhood in Beijing. People naturally gravitate to the East-meets-west sensibility that comes from having big steel and concrete buildings juxtaposed with old-style neighborhoods - but it never feels cramped or forced. Shichahai pulls the "east meets west" off beautifully with "hutong" neighborhoods, which are alley-ways that crisscross residential blocks of old-style houses. Walking past the fairy-tale-like houses with elaborately painted wooden facades and the sloping Chinese-style roofs gives one an enchanting, mysterious, time-out-of-mind feeling. We see hutong houses and the small shops standing side- by- side. Local residents pop out of their cozy hutong houses for some Sunday shopping at the local groceries ... and tourists mingle on the streets which can be as crowded as the touristy Nanluoguxiang thoroughfare - or as peaceful as the secluded alleyways and houses. If we so choose, we can take a quick look around whilst practicing Chinese.Protected content
