For the next Sunday (March 3rd), I propose you a new trekking session for mountain lovers, climbing to one of the most beautiful and attractive mountainous environments in Madrid. From the pleasant village of Navacerrada (4.000 ft-1.200 m), we’ll climb to the 2nd highest summit of the Sierra de Guadarrama mountain range, walking along dirt tracks, little mountain lakes, awesome pine forests, streams, springs, rocky cliffs and snowy spots to finally reach La Maliciosa Peak (7.300 ft-2.227 m), enabling us to contemplate an awesome landscape rocky/wintry-spring pics set, perhaps with a family of Iberian mountain goats (…).

HIGHLIGHTS…

-MEETING POINT.1 (8:30/:45... I'll be there at 8:30, but the bus will depart at 9:00 and we'll wait for no one, in order to achieve with the schedule): Moncloa Transport Interchange-Hub / Intercambiador de Moncloa (Metro lines 3, 6) … Protected content (-1 Level / 2 Island / 21 bay: Madrid-Navacerrada); departure 9:00; 10,20 € (round-trip ticket, to buy on the same bus); 60’ to Navacerrada (starting point of our trek)

-MEETING POINT. Protected content for car drivers, in Calle de las Eras (Navacerrada), closed to the bus stop

-PATH: Navacerrada-La Barranca-La Bola del Mundo-La Maliciosa (round trip); distance 11 mi-18 km; time: Protected content difficulty level: moderate, medium pace (6/10); vertical feet-meters accumulated: 6.740 ft-2.050 m

-LOGISTICS: appropriate equipment (warm-comfortable clothes and, overall, suitable mountain boots for rocky -and snowy?*- terrain) and enough individual amount of feed+beverage for Protected content of medium effort in mountain environment
*(not much in this season, any case, unfortunately…)

-RETURN: (approx.) 18:00 in Calle de las Eras; next buses… 18:45, 19: Protected content to Madrid-Moncloa)
