Commissioned in the late Protected content by Doctor Dalsace from architect Pierre Chareau, the building was a place of family life and a medical practice with avant-garde spaces. The Glass House is a unique and radically innovative form of Modernist architecture.
It is a three-storey house integrated into an 18th century building. Its facade is entirely made of glass blocks supported by the metal structure.
Inside, the steel beams as well as the pipes are left exposed. The three floors of the house seem dedicated to movement and transformation: the walls slide, the stairs are retractable, the wardrobes on wheels move…
