Via Ferrata and Panorama Hike @ Kandersteg
WARNING: this isn't (just) a hike and SPECIAL EQUIPMENT is MANDATORY!!!
Let's climb one of the most beautiful and spectacular via ferratas of Switzerland - Allmenalp in Kandersteg!
Via ferrata, or 'iron path', is a protected climbing route, where steel cable runs along the route and is fixed to the rock. You need special equipment to be able to do it (you can rent it if you don't want to buy).
If you are a beginner you have to be in a very good physical/psychological condition and being able to climb various ladders fixed on the vertical rock - see pictures and description in the link below.
We meet at the train station Kandersteg at 9:00. The climb takes 3 hours Protected content up, level 4 from 1 to 5); after this we will continue hiking to the First and Stand summits (another Protected content up). Then we will descend back to Kandersteg.
It is a demanding climb/hike. We are in no rush and will make enough breaks, but nevertheless you have to be well prepared.
- Climbing harness (belt)
- 'Klettersteig' climbing set (see the picture) - with break!!
- Gloves for climbing
- Hiking boots - not climbing shoes
This is not a guided tour. If you are not sure that you can do it (but you want to try) please book the official course first.
Take some food with you, we will have a picknick somewhere.
Really thrilled to do this together!
P.S.: send me the message with your phone number, I'll create whatsapp group closer to the date for better coordination.
