Dear skiing friends,
there is some more fresh snow expected for Friday and Saturday this week. The weather forecast for Sunday looks actually quite good. it is supposed to be mainly clear with even some sun. Therefore let us do some nice powder action in Flaine/Grand Massif! Eventually the Combe de Gers will be opened on Sunday.
Meeting point will be the BP petrol station on Route Blanche just before the border station in Thonex at 08:30h (for a prompt leave at 08:45h!).
There is also a bus stop Thonex-Vallard of Lines 5 and 25 right next to the petrol station.
From there it takes us around 60 minutes to the parking right next to the chair lift "Lac Vernant" ca. 10km behind the village of Les Carroz. Drivers please make sure not to stop at the first chairlift at the road. It must be Lac Vernant!
The coordinates are: 46° 1'11.62"N and 6°41'19.90"E
The ski pass for the day costs around 40 Euros. Please make sure that any rent of skis is done before the ski day.
If interested, please sign in here and indicate if you need a space in a car or can provide spaces in your car. Without this indication a sign-in CANNOT be accepted! (due to experiences in the past). Please only sign in, in case you are really convinced to join!
Unfortunately there are always some candidates signing in, not reacting on any message and finally not showing up! Pretty annoying that they block other candidates' spaces!
Participants needing a ride will pay to the driver or the owner of the car a petrol contribution of 8 Swiss Cent per km in an unasked way. And the péage is also being shared by all passengers. For example a tour to Le Carroz and back is Protected content and would be around 10 CHF per passenger for petrol. Additionally ca. 8 EUR péage needs to be shared as well.
Looking forward to spend a nice day in the mountains!
