Read Aloud World Day
LitWorld founded the campaign in Protected content advocate for access to literacy and diverse stories, as well as the power of reading aloud — an activity that has an immensely powerful impact on children's development.
For 11 years, World Read Aloud Day has called attention to the importance of sharing stories by challenging participants to grab a book, find an audience, and read aloud!
The day, annually celebrated on the first Wednesday of February, will be held on Feb. 5, Protected content .
The global effort is now celebrated in over Protected content and counting!
Why is reading aloud important? A Protected content found that children are exposed to a larger vocabulary from picture books read aloud than from conversations with adults. This is because we tend to speak with the same Protected content popular words; while books — even picture books — are more likely to use words outside that popular Protected content . Sometimes reading aloud can be easier said than done, but we have some resources to make it easier – even on the difficult days.
Join us in Protected content in which author Tamar Chachibaia will present her book with new illustrations and afford with kids reading aloud in English and Georgian.
