THE STUNNING CHESS VALLEY

The Chess Valley Walk through the Chilterns follows the River Chess from Rickmansworth to Chesham. It passes through the beautiful Chess Valley, through attractive villages and the meandering River Chess, one of the Chilterns famed chalk streams.

We hike through a landscape rich in wildlife, with a long and fascinating history. We'll discover the site of a Roman farm-villa at Latimer

Highlights

Amazing wood sculptures in Chorleywood Common

The scintillating River Chess, one of the few chalk streams in the world

The Frogmore nature reserve, full of wildflowers and amazing wildlife (red kites/deer and the elusive water vole, not to mention the alpacas along the way)

Historic sights of Chorleywood House, and Chenies (15th century Tudor manor)

Linear walk: 11 miles approx
