Virtual Expo: Self-portrait with Mask n2 - Cindy Sherman
The American photographer and fine artist, has, throughout her career, taken pictures of herself in a variety of outfits and settings. In her art, Sherman has been wearing the mask of a B-movie starlet, a luckless, sunburnt glamour girl, a clown, a Renaissance-era aristocrat and, more recently, a social media micro-celebrity... She has been simultaneously model, photographer, director, costume and set designer, lighting technician and make-up artist, whose aim is not to recreate every little detail of the original Western art works but to reflect their comical and theatrical sides.
Considered as one of the most influential artists Cindy Sherman has been exposed at Fondation Louis Vuitton in Protected content . Couldn't make it ? Join us : we will try to get a glimpse of her work exposed there by a virtual conference and relate her take on wearing masks to our crazy covid life...
