NB: we will not be meditating, just explaining the techniques!
Meditation is a practice to train attention and awareness, and achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm, stable state of mind and well being. In addition, meditation has been known to improve (not only mental) health. Most meditations involve a technique of focusing the mind on a particular object (e.g. a candle), thought (e.g. floating, or an image), or activity (e.g. walking, dancing, breathing).

All forms of meditation are beneficial and, if done right, can bring you the desired stable emotional state. Meditation is simple, but not easy. To achieve the results, it has to be done as pointedly and conscientiously as possible. Read: cheating does not help.

Zazen (Japanese for “sitting meditation”), is considered one of the purest forms of meditation because it is the state of *thinking about nothing* – an empty mind. I will explain the practice and the process of Zazen, as well as answer whatever questions I can about this and any other form of meditation, relying on the input of other participants with relevant experience.
