According to the dictionary, ego is the idea or opinion of one’s self, especially one’s feeling of self importance and ability, relative to other people.
In this current “Age of Self Love”, we are taught to take care of ourselves and our needs, above all others. This, together with our growing feeling of entitlement, is reflected in our world of getting what we want, when we want it. Think streaming on demand, online shopping, or delivery services. At the same time, narcissism (and hypersensitivity) are on the rise. Could these developments be correlated?
