Spanish Civil War Books

October´s meeting was a particularly vibrant affair where we not only discussed the book of the month (Varjak Paw) in detail, but also began an interesting conversation about the Spanish Civil war and it´s lasting legacy on modern Spain. As part of this debate there was a feeling that we would like to know more about this subject. So the first Book Club of Protected content be dedicated to ANY BOOKS about, or connected to, The Spanish Civil War. FIVE DOWN NO GLORY by Richard K Smith has been recommended as one example, although members do not have to choose this one and the more varied the titles we have as part of the discussion the better. Below is a link to a suggested list of books on this subject and any recommendations on this group are encouraged. If there are enough of us we might, for part of the meeting, split into smaller groups to aid discussion. For the moment the meeting place is the usual spot at La Mie Doree, but if it looks like being a bit cold to sit outside there, we can consider changing the venue. Thanks, Matt
