Inspired by her own life story, South Korean playwright and screenwriter Celine Song presented her directorial debut in competition at this year's Berlinale. She earned much applause for her sensitive and touching production of a tender romance on different time levels and continents.

The two close friends of the same age, Young Na and Hae Sung, experience happy school years in Seoul in the Protected content . But when Young Na's parents emigrate to Canada, they part ways. Twelve-year-old Hae Sung stays back in Korea, studies mechanical engineering and doesn't hear from his schoolmate for twelve years. She now lives in New York, has changed her name to Nora Moon and has become an aspiring author. One day she accidentally learns that Hae Sung is looking for her on the Internet. Curious, she contacts him through Facebook and the old bond quickly re-establishes itself. Soon they are chatting regularly on Skype.
