Marie Antoniette Ballet at the Municipal
This creation by Frenchman Thierry Malandain offers a subtle and magnificent spectacle surrounding the controversial figure of Marie Antoinette, the French queen. The work shows his courtly debut, the opening of the Royal Opera of Versailles and his fateful end in the Plaza de la Concordia, all in a choreography that unites the neoclassical and the modern.
Set in Versailles with a sumptuous costume created by the national designer Jorge Gallardo, all crowned by the music of Haydn and Gluck, make this piece an unmissable premiere of the Santiago Ballet season.
Thierry Malandain is a renowned choreographer and director of contemporary and neoclassical dance. Throughout his career, he has choreographed and directed numerous works that have been performed around the world, highlighting his ability to fuse classic elements with a contemporary and original vision
