Attempt 2 – as last time we did not manage, we hope now we will!

Level: an easy to moderate hike (appr.200m level difference)
We take the Cableway up and down.

Route: walk to MacClear’s Beacon via the Panoramic way – view over the city and Devil’s Peak along the way. We have a short break then continue on Jan Smuts path till the Echo valley turn. The fynbos is beautifully blooming at the moment - spectacular!
We need to climb up to the top from the valley again, but we will have a glimpse over to the Atlantic Seaboard as well. Be prepared to use 3 ladders to do this uphill part.

Please wear waterproof boots/ walking shoes as the path can be muddy at parts.
Bring along a warm jacket and a buff/scarf and a rain jacket, too, as temperature and weather can quickly change on the top.
Also supply your own water and snacks to last you during the whole outing. Bring at least a 1l of water with you!

The hike should take Protected content .

We meet at Lower Cable Station at 10h00.
Please buy your own return tickets (without any discounts it is R380 return)
Offers available at the moment:
1. If you have a valid Cable Card than enjoy the ride along!
2. Should you have a Wild Card, you get 20% off!
3. Cablecar has a ‘The Monday to Friday October Special’ for SA residents, return tickets are R100 each.
More info: Protected content

It is a weather dependent hike so I check the weather forecast beforehand and keep you posted.
I hope to see you there!
Kind regards,
Nora
