Cycling and Wine Tasting in Provence
Due to popular demand, we are going to try to do a repeat of the September trip. It depends on getting a full 8 participants before I can make reservations. Regrettably, because of the falling pound, I have had to make some changes to the costs, but in this new pricing, all meals and breakfasts are now included and I believe still represents good value for money.
This is a wonderful cycling and wine tasting experience in the heart of a beautifully scenic and culturally rich wine producing area of Provence in southern France.
Aimed at leisure cyclists, you don't have to be a cycling pro or fitness fanatic, but make sure you are reasonably fit, cycle regularly, are proficient riding on the road and know how to use gears, as there are occasionally some significant hills. Although the routes are along gorgeous country off-road trails and quiet roads, generally away from cars, we will occasionally have to traverse a town or ride for short distances on more major roads, so cycling proficiency is essential.
As a reward for the cycling, each day's ride will have a wine-tasting session where you can experience the best of what the region has to offer and straight from the source, as well as wine-cellar and wine-production visits. Don't worry though - you will only be drinking an equivalent of one full glass of wine maximum in the tasting session, followed by food, so you are not going to be drunk in charge!
There will also be gastronomic meals and cultural visits to typical Provencal villages and other attractions.
Over a long weekend, you will be 3 nights away and the meeting point will be Nice airport.
