"You have to get away from the Canon's idea of 'you have to see it all and recognize it as important'. How can we learn to accept many different art histories? "- Mathilde ter Heijne
The Performance Private view explores the underrepresentation of female positions in classical art history, looking for ways to rethink and expand it. Works by visual artists are illuminated, translated into the context of performance and activated by the performers. Personal conversations, interviews and documentary material from the Protected content to the present day form the basis of a poetic composition that juxtaposes familiar and unknown and gives both new visibility. Objects and texts create an installation-performative setting.
Concept, artistic direction: Dorothea Zeyringer
