The Sheikhs Shikhats & B'net Chaabi 🇲🇦sweep you away with polyphonic arrangements of popular songs from Morocco on original jazz arrangements and trance-like rhythms. Be intoxicated by the power and poetry of hidden musical traditions!
Through this project, Laïla Amezian and Laurent Blondiau pay tribute to the Ghanayats and Shikhats, musicians who fought for freedom of expression through art and culture. On the other hand, they also build on the cultural heritage that these singers have popularized throughout Morocco since the end of the 19th century, and which continues here.
