Entropy Concept in Art
Entropy at Art-Science Residency Protected content
Lets explore together something knew and about Entropy concept in art. Entropy is an ambitious collaboration by the multi-disciplinary artists Lisa Tolcher and Marta Ferracin that explores the concept of entropy, or disorder, through the chemical disruptive processes of natural and man-made matter. Guided by Dr Robert Baker, Senior Lecturer at the School of Chemistry, the University of Sydney, the artists experimented with the oxidation of weeds and metal objects by exposing them to organic and inorganic chemicals. The results have been combined in immersive sculptural and video installations, revealing the balancing act of life and death that is at the heart of entropy.
