Dear All

Rodica Oancea-Gonzales and Sergio de los Cobos present a unique and exciting programme featuring music from Eastern Europe, more particularly Romania.

Bartok's interest in folk music went beyond the borders of Hungary. He himself was born in a region which is now Romanian. Recognised today as a leading artistic figure of his country, Enescu is still seldom performed in the west to this day. Most Romanians grew up with Porumbescu's Balada, a moving music poem that reaches every heart through its sincerity.

Both successful in their own musical careers, Romanian-born violinist Rodica Oancea-Gonzales and pianist Sergio de los Cobos have enjoyed collaborative projects together on a regular basis since Protected content finishing their university studies. Rodica and Sergio have performed in several European countries as well as the United States.

Programme:
Bartók - Romanian Folk Dances
Enescu - Sonata No. 2 Op. 6 in F minor
Beethoven - Sonata No. 9 Op. 47 in A ‘Kreutzer’

Performers:
Rodica Oancea-Gonzalez - VIOLIN
Sergio de los Cobos - PIANO

I look forward to seeing you there!
