La Guerra Bianca (The White War)
The exhibition proposed (The White War" Protected content and dying on the front of the glaciers) is dedicated to a tragic chapter of European history, the Great War on the front of the glaciers.
It has been conceived and produced by National Geographic Italia, and presents over 70 images ( Maxi format), accompanied by vintage photos and explanatory maps realized by the photographer Stefano Torrione. On the highest mountain groups in the central-eastern Alps, between the peaks of the Ortles Cevedale, Adamello and Marmolada, the violent and dramatic vicissitudes of the first world War between trenches and netting were experienced with clashes between the armies of Kingdom of Italy and of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. In the reportage the war tragedy merges with the extraordinary seemingly unchanging beauty of the Alpine landscape.
We can have a quick lunch after the exhibition!
