La Donna Della Domenica (It) by Luigi Comencini
Mastroianni, Bisset, Trintignant, and soundtrack by Morricone, are the ingredients for, perhaps, the most famous film noir set in our loved Turin. The police detective Santamaria investigates the assassination of a vulgar and equivocal man, the architect Garrone, a loser who lives on the edge of Turin's high society (Torino bene), from whom he was tolerated but strongly despised. The victim was discovered by the geom. Bauchiero, who found the architect's corpse, killed by an unconventional weapon: a stone phallus.
All the main characters are suspected murderers because everyone had more than a good reason to kill Garrone.
