"A fantastic, engaging clash between generations and cultures, set in a center for Chechen refugees in Austria."
- IndieWire -
Nestled between the airport, the highway and the banks of the Danube in the Simmering district of Vienna, a separate world emerges behind the walls made of corrugated sheets and the barracks: Macondo, a refugee settlement where about 3,000 applicants live asylum from 22 countries. One of them is 11-year-old Ramasan, who came from Chechnya with his mother and two younger sisters. His father was killed in the war against the Russians, or at least that's what he was told. Ramasan does his best to fill the role of the head of the family, for example by taking care of the sisters or putting his mother's unruly hair back under his scarf. Later, a thoughtful man named Isa, an old friend of Ramasan's father, suddenly arrives in Macondo and Ramasan's life is turned upside down
N.B. the scheduled date and time is just for purpose visibility, the movie is yet available and along the whole month of july, but you need to open previously a free account at the filmfestival website
