From the novel by Paolo Cognetti, a film about friendship and the great attractive power of the mountain.

Pietro, a boy from Turin, goes on holiday with his mother to a small town in the Valle d'Aosta where only one boy of his own age, Bruno, lives. The two soon become friends to such an extent that Pietro's parents are willing to host Bruno so that he can study in the city. However, the father does not agree and the child will become a boy and a man who will never leave the mountain. However, the two will continue to meet and together they will renovate a baita before Pietro then begins to travel the world.
