Introduction to Ayurveda
Ayurveda is the traditional system of Indian, holistic naturopathy. The translation from Sanskrit is "the science of life" (Ayur means longevity or life and Veda means science).
While the allopathic tends the disease to "manage" Ayurveda gives us the knowledge that such diseases can be avoided and how their causes eliminated if they are even occurred.
The 5 elements that we find in the cosmos - earth, water, air, fire and ether, they all affect our body. And we will learn more about these elements and how they affect our body and mind.
According to Ayurveda, some elements affect a person more than others. Ayurveda divides the various constitutions into three so-called doshas which we will learn in this session.
The Dosha not only influences body shape, but also tendencies (certain food and digestion) and temperament (mind and feelings).
Ayurveda attaches great importance to Pathya, the lifestyle (eating habits and daily routine). Ayurveda gives tips on how we should adjust our daily routine depending on the seasons.
The session will be followed by a guided meditation.
