The Nutcracker ballet belongs to the treasury of "white classics", and therefore returns in a new form to the repertoire of the North Bohemian Theater ballet company in Ústí nad Labem. Tchaikovsky's beautiful music also contributed to this. However, even the dance suites from The Nutcracker are still among the most popular pieces of orchestral literature.
The libretto is based on the German writer E. T. A. Hoffmann's fairy tale "The Nutcracker and the Mouse King", where the power of love and humanity overcomes evil lines and frees the soul. The new version is also a story about the festive atmosphere of Christmas Eve, in which reality combines with the fantasy in a fascinating labyrinth.
