We start with Jeita Grotto
Nominated for the New Seven Wonders of the World. Jeita is one of the world's most beautiful cavern, at 20 km away north of Beirut. The two magnificent Jeita grottoes burrow deep into the earth within a beautiful green valley as cavities that are as old as the Stone Age. The tunnels and vaults of the upper cavern were discovered in Protected content , and opened in January Protected content . The lower caverns are visited by boat.
Then its Telepherique Jounieh / Cable Car
Our lady of Lebanon – Harissa
A huge, 15-ton bronze statue of the Virgin Mary, known as Our Lady of Lebanon or Notre Dame du Liban/Harissa, with her arms outstretched adorns the bluff high above Jounieh inaugurated in Protected content .
And we close with Byblos (Jbeil)
One of the oldest towns in the world goes back at least 7,000 years located 40 kilometers from Beirut. The rise and fall of nearly two dozen successive levels of human culture on this site makes it one of the richest archeological areas in the country. You will tour Byblos Castle. It was in Byblos where the first linear alphabet, ancestor of all modern alphabet, (through Greek and Latin), was invented.
Bus departs on time as indicated above. Meeting point in Protected content
Our first stop will be for quick breakfast. We will then go to Jeita Grotto. This is followed by taking the cable car to Harissa and walking to our Lady of Lebanon. Our last stop will be in Byblos where we will walk discovering the key attractions of Byblos and visiting the Castle.
Return to Beirut at 6pm
Cost includes transportation in comfortable bus as per programme with tour guide accompanying us all day.
Extras: Breakfast & lunch cost. Tipping for driver.
