Swiss Press Photo 18
Summer is running, and this is the best season for an outdoor trip. This time my proposal is toward the Italian Canton Ticino, in Switzerland, so called because of the Ticino river (the second Italian river in water flow terms, after the Po, in which it finishes its path after Pavia).
Our destination is Lugano, around 80 km from Milan city center. Third Swiss financial center, after Zurich and Genève, Lugano is a beautiful small city, in a picturesque location on its lake. This lake is of glacial origin having formed at the end of the last glaciation, about 10 thousand years ago: about 2 thirds are in Swiss territory, and the rest in Italy.
It is also known as Ceresio (from the ancient latin name “Ceresium”, referring to the fact that this area was plenty of cherry trees, or from the celtic “Keresius”, due to the branched shape of the lake).
We’ll visit the LAC (Lugano Arte Cultura), a new and modern building, just in the center.
Please don’t forget to bring your camera, reflex or compact or smartphone, any level is welcome!
THE PHOTO EXHIBITION

This exhibition has six categories: News, Daily Life, Swiss Stories, People, Sports and World.
