Welcome Drink at 18:00 followed by a Lecture from Vivian Micallef at 18:30.
Vivian Micallef was born abroad and had the opportunity of going to Italian schools, then the family came back to Malta where she continued her studies in English
After obtaining a teacher's diploma she taught for several years in a Secondary School. In the meantime she graduated in English and Italian, started an MA in Italian, followed by a Post Graduate certificate in Education, as well as several in-service courses offered by the Department of Education.
Presently she works as a tourist guide/lecturer and translator.
Her main interests include the interaction of cultures in the Mediterranean along the centuries, from archaeological time to this present day.
Together we will go from the origins of development of the south-eastern harbour area, through the ages, its archaeology, its historical background, names, businesses, way of living, maritime activities, the docks, the great sieges of Malta and the revival taking place now.
