When photographer Janis (Cruz) meets archaeologist Arturo (Israel Elejalde) on a photoshoot, she soon gets him involved in the excavation of mass graves in her home village—a painful historical remnant of the Spanish Civil War. After unexpectedly falling pregnant by the married Arturo, Janis is thrilled by the prospect of raising a child. A chance meeting with expecting adolescent Ana (Milena Smit) on the maternity ward leads the two single mothers to unknowingly form a bond that's sure to reshape their destinies.
