Sailing at Nong Bon Water Park
Sailing at Nong Bon Water Sports Park is one of Bangkok's secret delights. A year's membership costs 40 baht and gives unlimited access to sailing boats, kayaks, board paddling, and cycles, a bargain. The reservoir provides Bangkok with clean drinking water. The wind is usually low so sailing is safe and easy. For new members there is a compulsory (easy) one-hour sailing lesson in the classroom before taking out a boat. Cycles are also free and there is a path around the lake that is pleasant to follow.
Bring ID to register membership with the park.
There is a cafe at the park entrance, 5 minute walk away, with a range of drinks and food.
