La Galette des Rois: Tirer les rois

1500.00 NGN FOR THE CAKE (Albatross/Basic/Guest)

In the month of January, French bakeries are filled with a special cake: “La Galette des Rois”. The cake traditionally celebrating Epiphany in France.
Much more than just a cake, this pastry is a beloved tradition that traces its roots back to the Roman Empire.
The tradition of “Tirer les rois” that is to say to “Find the King” at the beginning of the New Year.
Why so? Is it the great taste of the pastry, the change of roles for one day, the significance of this event, the satisfaction of finding the lucky charm,” la fève”.
Everyone picks 1 piece of galette; the one who finds la fève is made the king of the day and wears the crown. He picks a queen by putting the fève in her glass and everyone raises his or her glass and applauds. Same process in reverse if a lady finds the fève. Tradition says that the next party should be at the king's expense.
...So why don't you join us on the 25th of January, to celebrate our “Galette des Rois” at Protected content
