La Fête Nationale | Bastille on Bishop
Annual festival in the heart of the Bishop Arts District that celebrates Oak Cliff's unique French roots.
Lets Celebrate in French Style
Plenty of food and wine.
I will be on the corner of 8th, and Bishop from 7:00-7:30 with Balloons - after that I or we will be a moving target. Don't worry if you can not find us, to much there to enjoy, see or lines for wine or crepes. Hint Hint Free Exotic Chocolate samples at Dude Sweet Chocolate :)
WHAT ARE THE HOURS OF THE FESTIVAL?
The festival starts at 6 p.m. and ends at 11p.m.
WHERE IS THE FESTIVAL?
The festival is located in the heart of the Bishop Arts District. The street closure includes the 300, 400, and Protected content of North Bishop Avenue, the Protected content of West 8th Street, and the Protected content 400 blocks of West 7th Street.
IS THERE A COST TO ATTEND BASTILLE ON BISHOP?
The festival is free, thanks to our sponsors! Your only expense is what you eat, drink, or buy when shopping in the market! To consume alcoholic beverages at the festival, you must have one of our event wine glasses, which can be purchased online here. Your glass comes with 2 tokens, which can be redeemed for either beverages or food. Cocktails, beer, and wine require 1 token. Most food requires just 1 token, as well. We also offer a VIP pass for those who prefer down time, restrooms, air conditioning, and more. Read more about our offering through our ticket sales site, found online by clicking here.
WHY SHOULD I BUY MY TICKET FOR MY WINE GLASS IN ADVANCE?
We only order a set number of wine glasses, and when they're gone, they're gone! Attendees without a wine glass can purchase beverages in our neighborhood restaurants and bars, but they cannot bring those beverages outside to the street festival.
CAN CHILDREN AND PETS ATTEND BASTILLE ON BISHOP?
All are welcome at Bastille on Bishop.
WE PLANNED TO EAT/SHOP IN THE BISHOP ARTS DISTRICT THAT NIGHT. WILL WE HAVE TO PAY TO GET THROUGH THE GATE TO GET THERE?
The festival is free, so no ticket is required to access our many great restaurants and shops. Many of the restaurants take reservations for dinner during the festival, as well!
WHERE DO I PARK?
We recommend using our city's new modern streetcar to access the festival! The streetcar is free, and runs every 20 minutes from Union Station. A comprehensive schedule and map from DART is available online here. Alternatively, an Uber or Lyft-type car service is recommended, as our neighborhood infrastructure is small and quaint. If you do drive, please be courteous of our neighbors when parking. Do not block driveways, as your car could be towed!
FREE Event - Take $$$ for food and drink
