Dear bushwalkers,

Some of you already know that this is one of my favourite bushwalks around Sydney.

It is at least 8.5km one way. We will be coming back the same way, so that is at least 17km. The walk is really interesting, with great nature and lookouts, so I'm sure you won't mind going back the same way.
The walk is mostly by the coast, part of it through 3 beaches, part is over the rocks, part is through the forest.
We will walk from Protected content We will make a break at this café, for a drink or lunch and than walk back. Note that the cafe is Cash only.

Check the map and note there is a big lagoon at Macmasters Beach, you might want to see. That would include another 2-3km there and back from the café.
Also, bring your swimmers in case you decide to go for a swim at this beach.

This walk is grade 3-4. Required level of fitness is above average. There are several steep parts. It is very long walk, for most people. If we are all fairly fit, it takes approximately 8h, with 45min break for the lunch at the café.

Allow at least 2h to get to our meeting point at Putty Beach from Sydney CBD, by car. Note that, unfortunately, you cannot get there by public transport from Sydney.
We will start our walk at 9:00. Be there on time as we cannot allow any delays and we have to be back to Putty Beach before sundown.

There is an interesting lookout (Staples Lookout) on our way from Sydney to Putty Beach, I would recommend you all to stop and take a look. Pin to the map is here: Protected content
It is on the left side of the road, towards Putty Beach and there is a parking provided. Allow additional 10 minutes for that.

Anyone with a car and willing to take other people with you please post where are you coming from and how many people you can take. Parking is $8-9 per day.

Please wear enclosed walking shoes, bring weather protection according to weather forecast, insect repellent, sun protection, hat and sun screen.
Also bring enough drinking water ( 1.5-2.5 L ) snacks and lunch.
Previous hiking experience is essential. Please do not sign up if you haven’t done 20km walk before.

Please remember to subscribe only if you are sure you can attend. If something comes up and you are not able to join, please cancel your attendance 24 hours in advance.

Looking forward to seeing you there.
