Kangaroos in the wild
Want to get up and close with kangaroos, icons of Australia? Morisset is popular amongst tourists looking to see the Kangaroos in their natural habitat.
We will catch the 10.16 AM train from Protected content The journey is 2 hours long both ways, so come prepared with your favourite music, books, movies, board games etc. If you wish to sleep, you can get on the quiet carriage. After reaching Morisset, we will walk for around 1 hour towards the Morisset Hospital grounds where there are plenty of Kangaroos roaming around. They are usually friendly and you can click pictures with them. Some people feed them carrots, however its advised by the authorities not to feed anything to them. After that we will head towards picnic area at the nearby lake and relax, chat or play some games. We will start our return journey at around 4. We may walk back or take a shuttle (3$ per person) on the way back to the station. We will catch the 5.16 pm train and reach Central station at 7.08 pm.
The walk is pretty easy and goes through the national park. There are no cafes near the picnic area so get food and water along with you.
Note: There has been some incidences in the past where Kangaroos have attacked people, so please be careful while approaching them. Organisers would assume no responsibilities in case of any accidents.
