D.C. Urban Hiking Series: Columbia/Roosevelt Islands with Picnic
Lets try this again...
I moved to Washington DC last year and invite you to discover the city by walking. The plan is to go on a hike in and around the capital about once a month.
***of course please bring your masks***
Easy loop of 5miles mostly paved, some grass or dirt (2.5 to 3.5 hours). Easy means 5-8miles with little elevation. Add 1.5miles if you are joining the bonus miles on Roosevelt Island :-))
-Mount Vernon Trail
-formerly United Spanish War Veterans Memorial
-Lady Bird Johnson Park
-Lyndon Baines Johnson Memorial Grove
-Columbia Island Marina
-Navy and Marine Memorial
-Roosevelt National Memorial
At the picnic tables at the marina, bring your own drinks/snacks
Feel free to text or whats app me at Protected content questions, if you are late or if you are lost (no calls please)
I will NOT be checking the IN app during the event*
