Dear sporty (and non-sporty) friends,

You are kindly invited for a sunday morning swim at 10:30 AM followed by a picnic at home.

Houilles is a nice cozy little town just a few minutes (by RER) from downtown Paris Protected content or so by RER from Etoile). It is the second RER station after La Défense, so very near Paris.

The swimming pool is near the RER and train station, at a close walking distance.

It is a recent, clean and good quality swimming pool (inaugurated in Protected content cleaner and less crowded than the swimming pools in Paris. It has two big 25 m swimming basins : one big pool for swimmers (8 swimming lanes), and one shallow and warmer pool for children (and adult beginners).

We can swim and enjoy there until about noon (the basins close at 12:30 anyway and the building closes at 1:00 PM).

We can then share a picnic at my place, which is very near the swimming pool, just around the corner (walk 1 or 2 minutes).

Address for the picnic/lunch (at my place) : Protected content

Those who want can join us then, for the picnic only (or swimming only, or both, as you wish).

Each of us brings his own food/picinc, and something to share.

The house is a high-performance eco-house (positive energy, photovoltaic panels, geothermal air conditioning, strong insulation, high performance heat pump, double-flux ventilation, six heat exchangers...) technically interesting (for eco-construction enthusiasts).

After the picnic, around 3:00 PM the event is over, but some of us may continue by going to see a movie in a nearby cinema (Sartrouville). I can drive you there, but I have only a limited number of seats in my car (3 seats available).

To come in the morning you can come by car, there is a big (and free) parking at the swimming pool and always plenty of room to park also (and also free) near my place as well (rue Victor Hugo).

If you come by public transport, I suggest you take the following RER :

Departing at 9:58 from Charles de Gaulle Etoile (the same train will depart at about 9:46 from Chatelet and 9:52 from Auber-Opera)
Arriving at 10:17 in Houilles-Carrières sur Seine

There is about one RER every 10 minutes or so.

There are also trains from Gare Saint-Lazare to Houilles :
departing from gare Saint Lazare at 9:46 (arriving 10:08 in Houilles) and the next is 10:01 (arriving 10:24 in Houilles).

Go out the RER/SNCF station on the LEFT hand side (when you watch the train leaving, Paris being in your back).

The swimming pool is just a 5 minute quick-walk Protected content slow walk) from the RER station.

The meeting point is in front of the entrance of the swimming pool (outside) until 10:30. See the exact location of the meeting point on the second photo posted.

At 10:30 we will go inside the pool. Whoever arrives late can still join us inside the swimming pool. I have a red swim suit, swimming glass, and my 12 year old son is usually not far from me.

The cost of the swimming pool entrance ticket is 4.50 Euros for adults (possibly 4.00 euros if you enter with me). The picnic of course is free (each of us brings his own).

Looking forward to the pleasure of seeing you on sunday morning,

Cheers, à dimanche !

Bruno

P.S. : I will answer my phone until about 10:35 and after 12:00 (I don't usually swim with my phone !)
