Secrets of Lauttasaari - an Architecture & Park Tour

We start with the manor house you all know and proceed to trace the history of Lauttasaari from it's manorial beginnings through its designer apartment buildings to the post modern apartment buildings of today. Along the way we visit the northern tip of the island and some of the lesser known parks of Lauttasaari, tour its ambassdor's house row, and visit the police summer house where we will neither be fingerprinted nor allowed to use the sauna. The length of the hike will be about 12 km so plan accordingly. There are cafes along the route so we can stop to rest and drink a cup before continuing. There will be opportunities to leave early for those who get tired but we conclude at the well known kasinoranta beach cafe.
