W.A Mozart: Rediscovering the Piano Concerto No. 21
At a time when his fame as a composer and performer was at its highest level, Mozart wrote the Piano Concerto No. 21, one of the best-known works in the entire repertoire. We can demonstrate its quality note by note and measure by measure. Still, we run out of words when we enter the second movement, a territory of pure wonder achieved with the simplest elements.
It is not until we listen to them in depth that they themselves reveal to us what lies beyond a title, a famous fragment, or certain details of the time and life of their authors.
Lecture by Rafael Esteve, professor of music history.
