Do We Need a Camera/Smart Phone to Take Photos?
Do we always need a camera or a smart phone to take photos ? Don't rush to answer yes to this question. With the two short videos we will see in this event, the answer to this question can also be "no".
In the first video "All the World's a Camera" (duration 5,5 minutes) we are going to meet Brendan Barry. Brendan Barry uses everyday objects to build cameras: bread, a watermelon or even a caravan .These unusual cameras are for him a way of better explaining how to take photos.
In the second video "The Photographer Without a Camera" (duration 6 minutes) we are going to meet Patrick Bailly-Maître-Grand . Patrick Bailly-Maître-Grand takes photos without a camera. By using techniques from the early days of photography the artist’s works are entirely analogue and highly poetic.
