PUBLIC ART MUNICH 2018 – GRAND OPENING
link for registration: Protected content
Dreams come true in art. This is the story of a shy boy who, like many children, dreamed of becoming a famous footballer. Massimo Furlan has made it: "For many years I hoped that the coach of the Swiss national team will call me, until I finally decided that I would become a football star." Alone on the football field he played the games from legendary games.
In the Olympic Stadium Massimo Furlan staged a re-enactment of the World Cup football game between the GDR and the FRG from Protected content , which ended surprisingly with a 1-0. It was the only direct encounter between the two German national teams at a World Cup. In Protected content , both teams had already qualified, and so it was more a political encounter between two countries, which had recently officially recognized. It was a clash of strength and weakness, arrogance and underestimation.
At PAM Protected content match will be played by only two players: Massimo Furlan as Sepp Maier and Franz Beil as Jürgen Sparwasser. The football comes - this time as art - back to the Olympic Stadium in Munich, where he is no longer present otherwise. Because the game is accompanied by the two former radio commentators, viewers and listeners can switch back and forth between two parallel worlds.
Bring your analog FM radio and listen again!
Massimo Furlan is a choreographer, actor, artist and author. He lives and works in Lausanne.
